We are proud to collaborate with The Humming Tree to bring you Backdoors 2018.

Backdoors is a music festival that’s about entertainment, education and empowerment through music. This year, the festival aims to bring people together to stand up against gender based violence.

Here’s why you should be at Backdoors 2018!

1) Be the change you want to see in the world

Violence against women affects one out of three women in their lifetime; it happens everywhere, at home and on the streets, in private and in public. A few months ago, the #metoo social media campaign shed a light on the sheer magnitude of sexual harassment and gender based violence that affects people all over the world.

If we want to bring an end to gender based violence, it is up to each and every one of us to pledge to stand up against discrimination, abuse and injustice wherever it might occur. Join us at Backdoors and demonstrate your commitment to personally making a difference!

This year, proceeds from the Backdoors festival will go towards supporting our Gender based Violence programme. Support Amnesty International India through Backdoors 2018 and receive exclusive merchandise and let your actions speak for you!

2) Meet awesome people who share your vision for a better tomorrow

In an increasingly insular and divided world, come and join a community of people committed to standing up for human rights for everyone, everywhere. The musicians, the speakers and you, collectively represent our hope for the future.

You’ll get the chance to go beyond the music and learn about your favourite musicians, as people and changemakers.

You might even get to meet your favourite artists! If you are attending the festival, tweet us at #backdoorsmusicfestival and we’ll reach out to some lucky fans, who will get a chance to interact with the artists backstage.

3) Begin 2018 as you mean to go on, with an incredible new experience

Since the 80s, Amnesty International has pioneered in bringing the world’s biggest musicians and artists together to encourage people to stand up for human rights. How better to pledge your support for a cause, than through an evening of amazing music and entertainment?

Backdoors 2018 features an incredible lineup, including Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals, Wolf Alice, Watsky, Danny Goffey, Prateek Kuhad, When Chai Met Toast, DIVINE and many others.

Join us in Mumbai on 14 February and in Bengaluru on 17 February. Keep a close eye on our Facebook and Twitter for more information.
